520 _aThis thesis establishes a custom-built, supersonic jet–cooled gas-phase LASER spectroscopy platform enabling high-resolution, mass-selective UV and IR studies of weakly bound molecular systems. The fully synchronized instrument integrates multiple lasers, pulsed molecular beams, time-of-flight mass spectrometry, and home-built LabVIEW-based control. Using this setup, the work provides the first mass-selected vibrational experimental evidence of sulfur-centered hydrogen bonding in disulfides, resolves aromaticity trends in five-membered heterocycles, and experimentally validates alkyl inductive effects, delivering robust benchmarks for noncovalent interactions.
