Summary, etc. Quantum Mechanics (QM) is a relatively new ground of physics that was developed at the beginning of the last century as the common effort of different scientists. Up to that time, it was possible to describe all known physical phenomena with the laws of classical physics as either particles (classical mechanics, kinematics) or waves (optics, classical electro-magnetism). The detection of new phenomena such as e.g. the photoelectric effect has lead to the development of a new physics that has revolutionized the way we look at the world around us. Many insights from quantum mechanics are at primary sight counterintuitive (i.e. they differ substantially from what we would expect in a classical picture!) which makes this field one of the most fascinating areas of modern physics. Quantum mechanics is a branch of physics dealing with physical phenomena where the action is on the arrange of the Planck constant. Quantum mechanics departs from classical mechanics primarily at the quantum realm of atomic and subatomic length scales. OM provides a mathematical description of much of the dual particle-like and wave-like behaviour and interactions of energy and matter. Quantum mechanics is significant for understanding how character atoms combine to form chemicals. It provides quantitative approaching into chemical bonding processes by explicitly showing which molecules are energetically favourable to which others, and by about how much. Quantum mechanics is a physical science commerce with the behaviour of substance and energy on the scale of atoms and subatomic particles/waves. It is the groundwork of numerous related disciplines, including condensed matter physics, quantum chemistry, and particle physics, and is the chief investigative tool in structural biology. Within the field of engineering, quantum mechanics plays an important part of forming the development of nanotechnology and electronics. This book is intended to afford a comprehensive coverage of the foremost aspects of quantum mechanics.
