Indian mythology : savitri outwits yamdev and other stories

Indian mythology : savitri outwits yamdev and other stories - Mumbai : Shree Book Centre, 2016. - 31 pages.

The Purans are full of colourful stories. Gods, demons, men, spirits, animals and birds make them most lively. There are eighteen major Purans, Maha-Purans as they are called. The word 'Puran' means old or ancient. Although one cannot be exact, the Maha-Purans evolved between 300 to 1000 AD. Some are older than the others. Some overlap in their story content. The same story, for example that of Prithvi, may be found in several Purans, only a little differently told.
